what is Maundy Thursday and when it is celebrated, Maundy Thursday is another religious observance of the Christians; this is the prior Thursday before the Easter Sunday and is the constituent of the Holy Week and in 2012 it is coming on 5th April, 2012. This is also renowned as the Holy Thursday as well as the Great Thursday. This is the day which also commemorates the crucifixion of the Jesus Christ. This Thursday is being observed on the account of the last supper the Jesus took and the last meal before his crucifixion which was held on the following next day. This was on the account of the last gathering the Jesus made with his followers and disciples. The Easter 2012 Sunday is more than a celebration and a joyful occasion while the Maundy Thursday is a more solemn and polite observance.

There are several services which took place on the Maundy Thursday on account of the observance of what the Jesus did on his last gathering with his disciples. According to the biblical belief the Jesus on this Thursday before the Passover meal Jesus washed the feet’s of the entire disciple and showed his true and loyal love for them. This action showed the real love of Jesus and through this the teaching is derived that all the Christians should live together with love and gratitude and should not indulge themselves in any contradicting situations and scenarios as this occasion is considered as the sign of true love and loyalty amongst the Christians. For this specific reason several practices of foot washing is being done in the churches in the remembrance of the Maundy Thursday.
