The fall of the Indian Cricket: The slow rise and the rapid fall of Indian Cricket

It has taken a long time after Kapil Dev glorifying the status of Cricket in India for the Indian cricket team to get back the pride with the Captainship of Mahendra Singh Dhoni who has in the past taken quite risky decisions for his team to gain success in cricket. But the achievement which took much effort, sweat, tears and a decade is now coming down crashing in the past six months. Now we are seeing the face of turmoil in Indian cricket. Dhoni has had a perfect career in the last few years with the careful and brilliant rise and some minor dips for Team India. But the past three months have been quite severe on him, but we cannot deny that we could see it coming clearly. Dhoni has worked hard for the Indian cricket team’s rise from the real bottom in 2007 to the T20 World Cup win in South Africa.

The Indian team also had a winning a series in Australia as a team captain and Dhoni has also led India to their first World Cup win in 23 years in May 2011, and this can be said as the international rise to unprecedented fame for team India. After the IPL win in 2011, the team and Dhoni had a very tough schedule with Three IPL in four years, TWO back-to-back titles for CSK, again one championship league in 2010, too much of pressure as a team captain. This proved to be a very hectic schedule for the team which showed its effect on the mental, physical and emotional endurance of the team to win the world’s biggest T20 competition just a month after winning the World’s biggest ICC competition. The form of the team India cricketer was brimming with overkill and affected the performance of Dhoni and others and the team started to lose the matches even in the England tour. In the Champion’s League T20 competition to Dhoni could be clearly seen as though he has no idea of what decision he was taking with, when Malinga went great guns on them in their first game.
