(Cover) - EN Movies - Meryl Streep believes Hollywood has become “bloated” with actresses desperate to grab attention.

The 62-year-old collected her third best actress Oscar on Sunday, for her portrayal of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady. Although Meryl was thrilled to be honoured at the Academy Awards, she finds the growing obsession with Oscars gowns tiring.

“[I am] grateful my work is recognised but, boy, we’ve gotten bloated. So grand. The outfits so incredible,” she told New York Post. “Their desperation to make an impact really gets to me.”

Christopher Plummer was named best supporting actor for his performance in Beginners. The 82-year-old Canadian star played a man who is coming to terms with his homosexuality in the comedy-drama. Christopher is the oldest actor to ever win an Oscar and he is proud to represent a different type of star in Hollywood.

“We sometimes become distant voices, but old actors never fade away,” he told the publication.

Meanwhile, Jean Dujardin is still revelling in his Academy Award success.

The French star won the best actor award for his performance in silent movie The Artist. He is reluctant to be parted from the famous golden statue, calling the trophy “very handsome”.

The Artist was the big winner this year – taking home five awards including best director and best picture.

Stars of the movie were eager to att all the biggest Hollywood after-parties on Sunday, and apparently appeared on television on Monday morning after getting no sleep at all.
